ANZAC DAY

This week we have been learning information, reading books and discussing Anzac Day. ANZAC day is a day when we celebrate Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought in the war. Our class have been doing different things about Anzac Day like writing acrostic poems and we read storys about the war. We read different storys their was one that was about this village called Le  Quesnoy and the Germans took over but a group of New Zealand soldiers came from across the world and saved the village.  On our first day back from the holidays we had to put the crosses on the grass for the people who died around the Auckland area. 

Kiwiana artwork

Hi guys, In art in my class we have been doing some Kiwiana artwork. For our great pieces of art we had to colour our background either warm colours which are red, yellow, pink, and orange, or cool colours which were green, black, blue, and purple. For my background I used warm colours. When we finished our Kiwiana background we had to draw a picture of something native to New Zealand. This picture had to have the opposite colours of what I did for my background. I drew a fern for my picture in cool colours. Blog you later!

fun at wheels day

Talofa lava bloggers, Richard here. On Monday we had a really good time because it was our wheels day we had a slip,n slide I felt awesome when I slid down. the wheels was really cool we had fun games like capture the flag and t-ball the day was so amazing. The cool things about our wheels day was that we could have fun during school and also we got to stay outside for the day and didn't have to go to class. The downside was that it was hot the whole entire day. tofa soifua blog you later.

Waikowhai primary Gala day

Hi guys, during the term my class have been busy making things for our Gala day my class are making tote bags. We are making tote bags because plastic bags are killing our animals. I am learning how to sew while making tote bags and have also learnt that our environment is very important to us. The steps of making a tote bag is to choose a fabric and then get some calico then put it together and start cutting it. After you cut them you pin them but you have to be careful because I stabbed myself while pinning the bag. Then after you pin them it's time to sew make sure when you sew do it slow you don't want to go fast because you can go cricked like me. After you sew you fold the top and iron it, you have to do this two times and make sure you iron it until it goes really flat.

My book review

Hi people of the blogging world, a couple of weeks ago we had to make a slideshow about the novels our teachers gave us, the book that was given to me was called Jonty and Choc. My book was about two boys who were best friends in primary and were to scared to go to intermediate. We had to put information about the book into the slide. During reading this book I have learnt that you can make new friends and fighting with your friends is not good. Next time I do another slide I think I can give you guys more information about the book. This book was really fun to read because it was suitable for my age. Blog you later

Richard's Journey

Talofa Lava people of the blogging world , In the beginning of the term we had to do a slide about travelling around New Zealand everyone started down in Dunedin and then all the way up to cape Reinga. The hardest part when doing the slide was the adding there were lots of parts of the slide show where you had to add up. For a car to travel in I used the camper van it was not the coolest car but it had the cheapest place to stay at. We had to add up all the petrol and pick some activities to do while on the trip. 

Crazy Science

Talofa lava people of the blogging world, it's Richard here today we had a science show in our hall.  It was fantastic. The person hosting the show was Richard and his DJ was Robyn. He taught us about air, fire, nappies, gas, water, and bubbles. I wonder if I could do at least one of the tricks myself. My favourite trick was the one when he made the 3 red balls come out of his mouth it was really cool. During the show I found out that plastic is made out of polymers. The show had a lot of information that's why I was really interested in the show. I learnt that polymer transforms liquids into solid he demonstrated it in a cup there was polymer in it and then he poured a drink into the cup then he tried to pour it on his head but it stayed in the cup because it turned into solid. When the show finished I was a bit sad but I didn't care because it was rad. Blog you later
